  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.125 tsp black pepper

Method
 

Steps
  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3 hours, until chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Shred the chicken with two forks directly in the slow cooker, allowing it to absorb more sauce.
  6. Serve warm over rice, mashed potatoes, or in buns as sliders. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, stir in 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with the sauce. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
