Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter to make the filling.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread half of the cinnamon filling over the batter.
- Top with the remaining batter, then spread the rest of the cinnamon filling on top.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the filling into the batter for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For extra sweetness, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
