- Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, extending over the edges for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine butterscotch chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt. Stir constantly until mixture is smooth and chips are completely melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and optional chopped pecans until well combined.
