Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 16 oz canned biscuit dough 8-count tube, such as Pillsbury
  • 0.5 cup jelly or jam any flavor, such as strawberry or grape
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method

Steps
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to monitor temperature.
  2. Flatten each biscuit slightly on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of jelly in the center of each biscuit.
  3. Fold the dough over the jelly and pinch the edges tightly to seal. Roll gently into a smooth ball.
  4. Carefully drop 3–4 biscuit holes into the hot oil. Fry for 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining dough.
  6. While still warm, dust generously with powdered sugar. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, keep the oil temperature steady at 350°F to prevent greasy or undercooked holes. Use a piping bag or small spoon to add jelly neatly. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days—reheat in the oven to restore crispness.
