  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup unsalted peanut butter make sure it does not contain xylitol
  • 0.5 cup water or low-sodium chicken broth

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, peanut butter, and water or chicken broth until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. If too sticky, add a little more flour.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.25-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters or a knife.
  6. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and firm.
  7. Let cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Always consult your veterinarian before introducing new foods to your dog’s diet, especially if they have allergies or dietary restrictions. Avoid ingredients like chocolate, raisins, onions, and xylitol, which are toxic to dogs.
