Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt

Method

Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and peanut butter together on medium speed until smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed to avoid a sugar cloud, then increase to medium and beat until fully incorporated.
  3. Add the vanilla extract, salt, and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute.
  4. Add the remaining tablespoon of cream if needed to reach your desired consistency. Beat for another 1–2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  5. Use immediately to frost cooled cakes or cupcakes, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use natural peanut butter. If the frosting becomes too soft, chill it for 15–20 minutes before using. Avoid overmixing once all ingredients are combined to prevent a greasy texture.
