- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and peanut butter together on medium speed until smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed to avoid a sugar cloud, then increase to medium and beat until fully incorporated.
- Add the vanilla extract, salt, and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of cream if needed to reach your desired consistency. Beat for another 1–2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Use immediately to frost cooled cakes or cupcakes, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use natural peanut butter. If the frosting becomes too soft, chill it for 15–20 minutes before using. Avoid overmixing once all ingredients are combined to prevent a greasy texture.
