Steps
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan or kettle.
- Remove from heat and steep the Earl Grey tea bags for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags.
- While the tea steeps, heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming (do not boil). Alternatively, use a milk frother for a creamier texture.
- Divide the vanilla syrup evenly among four mugs (about 1 tablespoon per mug).
- Pour the hot Earl Grey tea into the mugs, filling each about halfway.
- Top each mug with steamed milk, holding back the foam with a spoon, then spoon the foam on top.
- Garnish with a pinch of dried lavender if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy warm.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use oat milk or almond milk. Adjust sweetness by adding more or less vanilla syrup. Store any leftover tea concentrate in the fridge for up to 3 days—reheat gently before serving.
