  • 1 medium onion, chopped Yellow or white onion is preferred.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic gives better flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Cheddar adds a sharper flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Adjust based on spice preference.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Use as per taste.
  • as needed Olive oil for cooking For sautéing.
  • for garnish Chopped parsley Adds freshness.

Method
 

Cooking Pasta
  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Sautéing Sausage and Vegetables
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add the chopped bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
Making Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Great leftovers. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat with a splash of cream or water to revive the creamy texture. Customize with different vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
